ICEM will preview its new ICEM Shape Design software suite at Euromold 2005.

ICEM will preview its new ICEM Shape Design software suite at Euromold 2005 It will also demonstrate the latest version of its existing, market-leading surface modelling software suite, ICEM Surf 4.5, as well as stand-alone solutions for reverse engineering and photorealistic design visualisation

The company will be joined on its booth by Dassault Systemes, which will demonstrate Catia V5, and ATI Research Technologies, which is providing graphics cards for the PCs.

ICEM Shape Design represents the first fruits of the strategic software development and marketing agreement signed in March this year by ICEM and Dassault Systemes.

The new software has been developed on the Dassault Systemes CAA V5 software architecture to provide comprehensive surface modelling, surface quality analysis and design visualisation facilities that are fully integrated with the Catia V5 collaborative product development and manufacturing software suite.

Dassault Systemes will partner ICEM at Euromold to demonstrate Catia V5 and the seamless integration of ICEM Shape Design surface model data into the Catia V5 solid modelling environment.

Demonstrations of ICEM Surf 4.5, meanwhile, will feature the software's latest enhancements and added functions for use in the tooling development process, including the ability to globally deform surface models into their "spring-back compensated" form.

This functionality can be used in the press tool design process to morph the original surface model to the over-crowned tool face model to ensure that, after pressing, the part springs back to its designed position.

Of special interest to automotive design engineers, the demonstrations of ICEM Surf 4.5 will also include its new helix function, which automates and speeds the complex and time-consuming process of designing a vehicle's side drop-glass.

In addition to the previews of ICEM Shape Design and demonstrations of ICEM Surf and the company's stand-alone reverse engineering and design visualisation solutions, ICEM will also be presenting a number of technical papers in the Design and Engineering Forum and the VR Forum elsewhere on the Euromold 2005 show floor at various times throughout the show.
