The skills necessary to recognise and solve pump problems in a structured and confident manner will be imparted.
It considers various centrifugal pumps, their characteristics and the auxiliary equipment associated with pumping circuits.
A range of pump calculations will be dealt with as will the costs involved in the life cycle of pumps.
Jacques Chaurette, the instructor for this course, has specialised in mechanical engineering for over 20 years, with experience in North America, Europe, South Africa and Indonesia.
He started his career in the paper industry, initiating and controlling field trials of equipment he designed himself.
Later he moved on to the mining industry where he was responsible for issuing specifications, installation drawings and commissioning of all underground equipment related to mine expansion.
One of his most memorable career achievements was a multi-million dollar project for Mondi Board Mills, where he developed a pump sizing program capable of doing stock and water flow total head calculations.
Currently he works as a consultant specialising in pump system design, trouble-shooting and training to companies across North America.
He is an accomplished and enthusiastic instructor.
