Two-day workshop on "Boiler plant operation and management for engineers and technicians" to be held in London and Manchester during September 2006.

IDC Technologies is presenting its two-day workshop, "Boiler plant operation and management for engineers and technicians", in London on 25th and 26th September 2006 and in Manchester on 28th and 29th September 2006 This practical two-day workshop will provide delegates with the skills to identify the various types of boilers and to become familiar with the use of essential terminology and its applications

Delegates will learn to describe the typical characteristics of fired fuels and their impact on the boiler heat transfer surfaces.

Basic combustion and process calculations will be covered and how the ancillary equipment associated with steam boilers plays an integral role in the safety of the boiler.

The correct operation, control sequences and procedures for the safe operation of a typical fire-tube boiler plant will be investigated.

The applicable pressure part design codes and their influence on boiler pressure parts sising, inspection and nondestructive examination will be outlined.

How to initiate an effective inspection and maintenance program, minimise forced outages and prevent serious damage to boiler equipment will all be dealt with.

The workshop will provide an overview of the legislative requirements, the essential steps and responsibilities for the repair of boilers, the technologies available for the reduction of emission levels and the applicable international legislative controls.
