The Civil Defence organisation comprises volunteer members who are trained in essential skills, such as first aid, rescue, fire fighting, emergency feeding, evacuee care, land and water search and radiation monitoring.

Brian O'Connor, Managing Director of RCI Communications said, "We are absolutely delighted that this particular tender was awardrd to Icom.

The main criteria of this tender was the build quality and reliability of the produt and all major manufacturers were extensively evaluated.

The tender was awarded to the IC-F4GT as it surpassed all others in these areas.

We see this as a positive move towards further major contract being awarded to Icom by other major government departments." Ian Lockyer, Marketing Executive of Icom (UK) Ltd said, 'I am absolutely delighted that the Irish Civil Defence has chosen the IC-F4GT.

I am very pleased that companies such as RCI are introducing top organisations to the merits of Icom communication equipment.' He further added, 'The IC-F4GT is our latest product offering to the commercial sector.

It is a top quality product with a wide range of attributes that make it ideal for public services.
