Touchscreens to interact with PLC
IDEC Electronics affordable touchscreens provide interaction with the new MicroSmart PLC and are available now at IDEC's Basingstoke headquarters.
The HG1B is a small monochrome device and the HG2A is a larger 8 colour or monochrome unit with extra features Both operate from a 24 VDC supply

The HG1B touchscreen has 48 (4*12) separate touchzones and can display up to 100 screens.
The HG2A can have up to 70 configurable touch areas per screen, 150 screens being the maximum.
Both units have bitmap and graphic display capabilities and the configurable alarms prompt a flashing screen with buzzer.
RS232, RS485 and RS422 port options are available to connect to different manufacturers PLCs.
The PLC protocol drivers are incorporated in the WindO/I programming software, which programmes all IDEC touchscreens.
Extra features of the HG2A are a calendar/clock, trending and printing capability and built in 24VDC inputs/outputs at the rear of the unit, which can be expanded up to a maximum of 23 I/O.
A variant of the HG2A is the HG2C, which provides "touch and click" areas available either in rows or columns adjacent to the touchscreen area.
All IDEC touchscreens are IP65, are CE marked and meet IEC and UL standards.
