Idec is one of the few companies to offer a line of enabling switches that meet the latest ANSI and RIA standard for working with robotic equipment.

Idec is one of the few companies to offer a line of enabling switches that meet the latest ANSI and RIA standard for working with robotic equipment These standards specifically require the use of three-position enabling switches in teaching pendants

Idec's range of HE enabling switches feature off/on/off functionality, based on studies showing that the human response in panic situations may be to squeeze or to release.

The contacts will not close when released from position 3 (off) to position 1 (off).

Door interlock switches are a more reliable alternative to limit switches, providing more security in potentially dangerous locations and ensuring that machinery will not start or operate unless conditions are safe.

The HS series of interlock switches feature direct opening action, which forces the contacts to disconnect when the door or access gate is opened, even if the contacts have been welded shut.

These are available in a variety of sizes, models and contact configurations all with IP67 protection.

Also available are Idec's range of emergency stops, emergency stop shrouds, light towers and safety relays.

Recently introduced are the XA and XW E-stops which feature an innovative safe break action ensuring all NC contacts open even if the contact block is separated from the operator.

Push-to-lock, pull and turn-to-reset functions are built into the same unit.
