Modules boost PLC analogue input density

An IDEC Electronics product story

To complement the launch of its Pentra PLC range Idec has introduced four new analogue modules, which are also compatible with the MicroSmart PLC family.

The main improvement is module density.

With only two channels available on the earlier MicroSmart analogue modules this has been significantly improved to four for the FC4A-J4CN1 and eight for the FC4A-J8C1, resulting in a considerable reduction in cost per channel.

Both types have 16bit resolution, voltage and current input and with a system transfer time of 6ms/channel for the eight-input module.

An eight-channel thermistor input and a two-channel voltage/current output module have also been introduced.

The thermistor module has 12bit resolution and the output module 16bit resolution.

The introduction of these modules have ensured that lower cost analogue capability is now a feature of the Idec MicroSmart and Pentra PLC ranges at a performance comparable with any of the competition.
