An IDEC Electronics product story
Edited by the Engineeringtalk editorial team Nov 30, 2006

Idec makes the task of switching PLCs as simple as possible with low cost entry software and programming kits comprising the just the software, cable and manual.

When changing from one PLC/HMI manufacturer to another, too often the overall cost can prove daunting when the price of new software, connection cables, manuals and learning time is taken into account.

Idec makes this task as simple as possible with low cost entry software and programming kits comprising the just the software, cable and manual.

The WindLDR PLC ladder software is easy to understand and the user will find it requires the minimum of learning time before becoming proficient.

Similarly, the WindO/I HMI screen software employs simple pick and place operations meaning screen information can be created in a short time.

Idec does not charge for software upgrades either, unlike other manufacturers.

When an upgrade becomes available this can be downloaded free of charge from the IDEC website, with no limit to the number of times this can be done.

So, when users are considering changing to the MicroSmart/Pentra PLC range they can be assured that their changeover costs are as low as possible if they take the Idec route.
