PLCs offer speed boost
The speed of movement of analogue data into and out of the MicroSmart or Pentra programmable controller has considerably increased.
Up to five communication modules can be added.
These coupled with the two available on the Pentra CPU makes a total of seven, more than enough to handle connection to a variety of RS232C devices.
Small PLCs can be limited in the number of available serial ports, but not when the Idec Pentra and SIF2 are used.
Users can connect to displays, serial printers, barcode readers, RFID equipment, card reader and variable speed drives.
The Pentra PLC with its Idec Logic Engine is the fastest slim CPU in its class, supporting double-word and floating point maths.
When coupled with the FC5A-SIF2 communication module it can provide a host link to a variety of RS232 devices and with its user communication instructions can implement different protocol formats.
