The latest version of the WindLDR PLC programming software suite incorporates a number of new features.

Idec Electronics has released the latest version of WindLDR 5.20 PLC programming software, which incorporates a number of new features.

WindLDR has now been upgraded to version 5.20.

This provides compatibility for the new Windows Vista operating system.

Other improvements include program conversion from all earlier Idec PLCs, the introduction of new instructions including I/O force for the Pentra PLC, improvements to the ladder editor and selectable comment and tag name storage in the PLC.

An exciting feature that was introduced on the previous version of WindLDR is program simulation on a PC.

Ladder programs can be tested without downloading to the PLC.

Contact closing and opening can be affected simply by double clicking on the contact, and so users can selectively test all parts of the program as required This has been further improved by simulating the communication interchanges of the PLC serial ports, by using a PC serial port.

A port monitor dialog box monitors the exchanged data.

All customers who have WindLDR version 4.00 and upwards can upgrade to version 5.20 free of charge by accessing the Idec website.
