Innovative "safe break action" ensures that all normally closed contacts open if the contact block is separated from the operator.

Idec XN series illuminated and nonilluminated emergency stop switches employ a direct opening action mechanism which meets IEC60947-5-5, 5.2, IEC60947-5-1, Annex K standards They also employ a safety lock mechanism that meets the IEC60947-5-5, 6.2 standard

The innovative "safe break action" ensures that all NC contacts open if the contact block is separated from the operator.

The direct opening action, without springs, means the potential energy level to achieve latched status is lower than that of normal status.

Now, padlockable versions have been introduced to allow prevention of unauthorised reset of latched emergency stop switches.

This meets the OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Administration) guidelines that in cases where unexpected startup of a machine could cause injury to operators, if the machine is stopped it should be isolated from potentially hazardous energy sources and locked out before employees perform any servicing or maintenance.

Product options include: 30mm hole fixing; 40 and 60mm heads for nonilluminated types; a 40mm head for illuminated types; a 44mm head for padlockable versions; screw terminal fixing with/without terminal cover; push/pull operation; and turn to reset.
