Idec offers SA1U photoelectric sensor

An IDEC Electronics product story

The SA1U photoelectric sensor is a rugged, general purpose switch suitable for the harshest industrial environment.

With an IP rating of 67, this sensor can be used for the wettest type of application, such as bottling and food processing lines.

A universal voltage supply provides an operating voltage range of either 24 to 240vAC or 12 to 240vDC.

Four sensing methods are available - through-beam providing a range of 50m, background suppression giving a range of up to 2m (backgrounds beyond this will be ignored), polarised-retroreflective (7m range) and diffuse-reflective (1m range).

Because the LED status indicators are mounted on the corner of the sensor, they are easily visible when viewed either from the horizontal or vertical direction.

The SA1U has interference suppression, meaning two sensors can be closely mounted (except the through-beam type) without the risk of the transmitted light interfering with the adjacent sensor.

An optional time delay on each sensor output means that one shot, on delay and off delay operations of up to five seconds can be selected and the spring-up screw terminals provide a means of wiring the module in minimum time.
