IDEC unveils 'spider light' indicator

An IDEC Electronics product story

IDEC have launched a slim and stylish indicator, the 'spider light'.

The 'spider light' is suitable for direct mounting on surfaces such as aluminium frames, walls or control cabinets, and in small spaces.

It is available in a domed lens or flat style.

The flat style has the benefit of legends and symbols being printed on the marking film, making operator recognition of alarms or display data very simple.

With an IP rating of 67, there is no problem with water/fluid ingress from process, and when using the domed indicator or even the flat lens type with visible sides, excellent all-round visibility is assured.

Applications for the 'spider light' range from simple pass/fail indication, using the two-colour red/green light, to tooling change indication on machine tools.

UL17540 Robots and Robotic Equipment 36.1 states the requirement for a 'robot active' indication light to be mounted on the arm of production robots - the 'spider light' can also be used for this purpose.

The LED 'spider light' is available in all the usual colours, and also in a two-colour red/green version.

The power input is 24V AC/DC and the maximum current draw is 25mA (0.6W).

Direct cable wiring comes in 1m, 3m and 5m lengths, in amber, green, pure white, red, blue, white, yellow and red/green alternate colours.
