IDM Electronics has extended its H Series of miniature slip-ring assemblies with a new mid-flange version.

IDM Electronics has extended its H Series of miniature slip-ring assemblies with a new mid-flange version.

The 40mm-diameter flange is positioned at the midpoint on the body and has three 5mm fixing holes.

Developed in response to customer demand, they are particularly suitable for applications such as cable reeling machinery where the flange can be used to provide a range of mounting options.

Slip rings enable electrical signals to be passed across rotating joints and the H Series, with gold-plated rings and gold alloy brushes, is suitable for all video and digital signals.

The mid flange units are available as 6- and 12-way versions and, with a body diameter of only 10mm and overall length of 30mm, can be installed in even the tightest spaces.

Leads are 300mm long as standard, but any length and colour can be supplied.

They can be terminated with a wide variety of connector types and styles.

Rated at up to 2A and 240V, H Series slip rings run on two sets of ball bearings and have a maximum speed of 400rev/min.

They can be used at temperatures from -20 to +90C.

The flange-mount H Series is part of a much wider range of miniature slip rings for industrial and military use.

Typical applications include closed circuit television cameras, robots and down-hole inspection equipment.
