The IET Seminar on Power Generation Control is aimed at control engineers and specialists, consultants and OEM suppliers involved in the power generation business.
The IET Seminar on Power Generation Control will be held on 28th November 2006 at Austin Court, Birmingham, UK.
The power industry faces a number of challenges, many of which are driven by the need to minimise emissions, maintain safety, and have flexible plant whilst still operating profitably.
Control systems at power plants are a key tool in helping to achieve and maintain this balance.
The IET Seminar on Power Generation Control is aimed at control engineers and specialists, consultants and OEM suppliers involved in the power generation business.
The aim of this inaugural IET event is to foster a forum which brings together engineers and academia with a view to sharing knowledge, highlight challenges/issues, in the hope of leading to the development of innovative and pragmatic solutions for implementation.
The event will be preceded by the annual IET Hunter Memorial Lecture on the evening of Monday 27th November.
This year's lecture: "Shaping the UK power industry for the next generation", will be delivered by Paul Golby, CEO of E.ON.
Delegates will have the opportunity to: network with others within the power generation control engineering discipline; gain an understanding of a broad range of issues and technology drivers specific to the power industry; and input into the future development of this event.
This event will be of particular interest to power plant production and engineering managers, control and power engineers, academics and system vendors in the power generation sector.
