Awards recognise young professionals
The IET is Young Professionals' Career Achievement Award is presented annually to the young professional judged to have made the most significant progress in their career.
The Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET) is calling for nominations for its Young Professionals' Career Achievement Award The award, in memory of Mike Sargeant, is presented annually to the young professional who is judged to have made the most significant progress in their career over a number of years

The Inspec Direct platform will be commercially available on 1st January, 2008 and starting today researchers and information professionals are invited to trial the new platform for free.
The award is open to any young professionals who may have shown exceptional leadership in developing a project, contributed creatively when developing a new product or service, or demonstrated exceptional commitment to engineering/technology through their academic or professional development.
Nominations must be made on behalf of the young professional through their employer.
The closing date for nominations is 13th July 2007.
The winner will receive GBP 500 cash and a certificate.
They will also be invited to attend the International Awards Dinner and Ceremony, which will take place at the Marriott Grosvenor Hotel in Mayfair on 13th November 2007.
This high-profile event will be attended by influential people offering excellent networking opportunities and providing the winner with an opportunity to raise their profile within the engineering industry.
