Minister to present awards keynote

The Minister of State for Science and Innovation, Ian Pearson MP, will be the keynote speaker at the IET Innovation Awards later this year.

The IET Innovation Awards celebrate the products, technologies and processes that lead the way in engineering innovation.

They culminate in a ceremony on Monday 3rd November 2008 in London hosted by TV and radio presenter Maggie Philbin.

Robin McGill, IET Chief Executive, said: "We are delighted that the Minister will be making the keynote address at our Innovation Awards".

"Now in their fourth year, the awards are a showcase for the brightest ideas, highlighting the importance of innovation by celebrating its application across a range of engineering disciplines".

The Innovation Awards incorporates 15 award categories: asset management, built environment, electronics, emerging technologies, information technology, power and energy, product design, project team, robotics, control and instrumentation, security, software in design, start-ups, sustainability; telecommunications and transport.
