Schneider Electric has selected IST's spring design and validation software to be adopted by designers throughout the worldwide group.

Schneider Electric has selected IST's spring design and validation software to be adopted by designers throughout the worldwide group This is a significant decision at a time when Version 7 of the software is being developed, as the designers at Schneider Electric will have an input for their requirements to be incorporated in the new version

This is a procedure that IST follows with all its users to provide them with the opportunity to help develop each version of software to better meet their needs.

Currently Version 7 covers both round wire compression springs and round wire extension springs.

Development is now underway on the round and rectangular wire torsion spring program.

Some of the main features common to all the Version 7 software is that they incorporate in one program: BS, DIN and SMI spring tolerances; International, European and national material specifications; UK, European, DIN and SMI design criteria; and are network-enabled as standard at no extra cost.

Also included is a greater integration into Windows, for transfer of screen data via the clipboard to produce reports and send e-mails in other Windows compatible software.

One feature that is a result of input from the current users is an increased user friendliness and a customisation program for defaults and material input to enable designers to personalise their software.

A free demonstration CD is available.
