IST Technical Director, Malcolm Southward has just returned from providing an in-house training course at Stumpp, Schuele and Somappa, a major spring manufacturer in India.

IST Technical Director, Malcolm Southward has just returned from providing an in-house training course at Stumpp, Schuele and Somappa, a major spring manufacturer in India.

The course covered material selection, spring design and manufacture.

This now brings the number of countries, other than the UK, visited to provide such courses to eight, these being: USA, Australia, Malta, Sweden, Finland, Brazil and The Netherlands.

Courses have been run for both spring makers and spring users Training packages are designed specially to meet the company's training needs and requirements and can be any of the following standard courses or mixed and matched for the individual company: essential spring design; beginners guide to SPC; spring materials selection; spring manufacturing; spring failure and prevention; accurate spring measurement; surface treatments for springs; and flat springs.

Courses can be performed for up to 20 delegates either at the company's choice of site or IST headquarters, and for duration of one or more days.
