The Institute of Spring Technology has upgraded its spring design software for torsion springs, in line with the latest versions for round wire compression and extension springs.

The Institute of Spring Technology has upgraded its spring design software for torsion springs, in line with the latest versions for round wire compression and extension springs Version 7 of the software has greater integration into Windows for transfer of screen data via the clipboard to produce reports and send e-mails

IST also offers a network version at no extra cost.

Major new features in the Version 7 Spring Design Software includes new EN design standards, the ability to select from EN, BS, DIN or SMI design methods, as well as the option of BS, DIN or SMI tolerance rules.

The software incorporates a full range of EN, BS, DIN and ASTM spring materials, flexible methods of spring specification and new and improved user interface, as well as relaxation data covering commonly used spring materials, enhanced graphic displays and formatted reports and plots available as printouts and clipboard copies.

Written and developed to be fully interactive for the spring designer, programs are currently available for round wire compression, extension, torsion, conical, rectangular wire compression, volute and disc springs, as well as rapid prototyping.

A free fully functioning demonstration CD-ROM is available.
