Invensys Process Systems' next-generation Foxboro custody transfer system (CTS) for liquefied natural gas (LNG) carriers has been certified by Nippon Kaiji Kentei Kyokai of Japan, a survey organisation in the area of custody transfer measurements for LNG The CTS reference V for LNG carriers is based on a non-contact pulsed laser technology that combines the accuracy of traditional capacitive-based systems with the lower cost of non-intrusive radar-based level measurement

Monitors keep watch over asset performance
A novel series of novel asset performance management solutions enable users to monitor, predict and effectively manage both the availability and utilisation of their industrial assets.
The CTS provides the high accuracy measurements and data logging of levels, temperatures and pressures required for the calculation of total LNG cargo, loaded or discharged.
The data is converted to volumetric measurement.
It provides easy external access to all level measurement components for inspection or repair, eliminating the need to enter the LNG compartment.
The high-resolution, non-contact, pulsed laser technology eliminates the need for complicated and costly in-tank wave guides.
Fully industrial components in high-availability redundant configurations ensure trouble-free operation in marine environments.
The Windows XP user interface has monitoring, logging, alarming and reporting functionality and provides an interface to other shipboard subsystems.
The functionally independent alarm system provides for safety and security.
