Enterprise control system shows its power
Invensys provided 100 journalists, industry analysts, customers and partners with a dramatic demonstration of the power of the new InFusion enterprise control system.
More than 20 I/A Series operator workstations and three I/A Series engineering workstations will be located in several control rooms on the site.
Distributed around the plant will be 26 I/A Series control processors connecting to myriad I/O devices.
The I/O population will comprise 30,000 OPC, Profibus and Modbus communications points, almost 4000 Hart devices, more than 4000 discrete devices, and approximately 1400 Profibus-connected motors.
The Avantis asset management solution will be used to run a maintenance management system for the Hart transmitters and valve positioners.
The device condition information flow between the asset management system and the intelligent field devices will employ FDT-DTM technology.
Using the SimSci-Esscor Dynamic Simulation Suite, the new Suzano Bahia Sul implementation will include FSIM Plus, a high fidelity Foxboro control system virtual simulation solution based on the SIM4ME common modelling environment.
In conjunction with Ideas Simulation, Invensys will deploy FSIM Plus initially for I/A Series control system checkout and for operator training at the Mucuri pulp mill site.
Invensys Process Systems Brazil will provide a range of professional services, including configuration engineering, commissioning and startup services.
The Suzano Papel e Celulose automation contract builds on Invensys Process Systems Brazil market presence and on experience with world-class pulp and paper automation projects, including other major projects in the region.
Invensys has also implemented safety instrumented systems and process systems at additional manufacturing facilities owned by Suzano in Brazil.
