The new solid-state vacuum/pressure sensors from IFM Electronic, offer a convenient and reliable solution for use in applications such as vacuum handling equipment and pump installations
The new solid-state vacuum/pressure sensors from sensing and control specialist, IFM Electronic, offer a convenient, complete and reliable solution for use in applications such as vacuum handling equipment and pump installations, where it is necessary to monitor both negative and positive pressures The new sensors have an operating pressure range of -1 bar to +1 bar, and offer both a single switched output, which can be set easily and accurately without the need to pressurise the installation, and a 4-20mA analogue output, which facilitates remote pressure monitoring

Gateways take control of AS-i slaves
AS-i gateways come with M4 master profile support for all AS-i slaves from specifications 1.0 to 3.0.
Capacitive sensors can see through walls
Sensors from are optimised for the detection of conductive media through nonmetallic walls or on bypasses.
With no moving parts, and the ability to withstand over-pressures of up to 20 bar without damage, the new sensors offer outstanding reliability and complete freedom from routine maintenance, even in the most demanding applications.
In many applications, IFM's innovative new sensors eliminate the need to use separate sensors for pressure and vacuum, thereby simplifying system design, and reducing installation costs.
IFM vacuum/pressure sensors are offered in EHEDG-certified hygienic versions, which are particularly well suited to the needs of the food, paper and chemical industries, and have an IP67 III environmental protection rating.
Standard versions, with threaded ports for general-purpose pneumatic and hydraulic applications, have an IP65 III rating.
All types are suitable for use with media at temperatures between -25 and +80 C, and one of the hygienic versions is also available in an extended temperature range model for use with media between -25 and +145 C.
Large seven-segment displays are incorporated in the sensors as an aid to adjustment, and to provide a continuous pressure readout during normal operation.
The display can be inverted to allow easy reading, irrespective of the sensor orientation.
The sensors provide a single PNP switching output which can be programmed as normally open or normally closed, plus a 4-20mA analogue output.
Plug-and-socket type connections are used, and IFM offers a full range of compatible pre-cabled connectors. Request a free brochure from IFM Electronic ...
