With their high reliability and accuracy, ease of adjustment and robust construction, the new PN-series solid-state pressure sensors from sensing and control expert, IFM Electronic, are ideally suited for applications in pneumatic systems Based on IFM's innovative ceramic-cell sensing technology, the new sensors are highly resistant to over-pressure damage and, because they have no moving parts, they need no maintenance or adjustment throughout their exceptionally long working lives

Gateways take control of AS-i slaves
AS-i gateways come with M4 master profile support for all AS-i slaves from specifications 1.0 to 3.0.
Capacitive sensors can see through walls
Sensors from are optimised for the detection of conductive media through nonmetallic walls or on bypasses.
The sensors feature stainless-steel construction, and have a protection rating of IP65 or better.
They have an integral three-digit pressure display, which eliminates the need to use a separate pressure gauge, and they use IFM's straightforward pushbutton adjustment system which allows rapid and accurate setting without the need for tools.
To ensure maximum versatility, PN pressure sensors are available in several different versions.
For simple applications, the model with a single switching output is an ideal choice, while other versions offer two switching outputs which can, in most systems, replace two conventional pressure switches or a single switching output plus an analogue output, producing either a 4-20mA analogue signal or a 0-10V signal.
For the majority of pneumatic applications, PN sensors with a 0 to10 bar (0 to 147 psi) operating range will be the most appropriate choice, and this unit can withstand over-pressures of up to 50 bar (735 psi) without damage.
Other PN-series sensors are available with operating ranges from 0 to 1 bar, up to 0 to 600 bar.
All sensors in the PN range have G1/4 fittings for connection to the pressure system, while electrical connections are provided by industry-standard M12 connectors.
The units are designed for operation from nominal 24V DC supplies, ensuring compatibility with all modern PLCs, and switching models have fully protected solid-state outputs rated at 250mA. Request a free brochure from IFM Electronic ...
