Temperature probes get stuck in
Two new hygienic temperature probes can be used with all common process adapters, including DIN, IDF, clamp and DRD types.

Gateways take control of AS-i slaves
AS-i gateways come with M4 master profile support for all AS-i slaves from specifications 1.0 to 3.0.
Capacitive sensors can see through walls
Sensors from are optimised for the detection of conductive media through nonmetallic walls or on bypasses.
The innovative fitting used with the new type TT temperature probe can be clamped to the probe at any point along its length, ensuring that the temperature measurement is always made at exactly the right point.
This is particularly useful when monitoring temperatures in pipework or small vessels, where poor probe positioning often introduces significant measuring errors.
Eliminating the need for thermowells not only means that the new sensors are easy and inexpensive to install, it also allows them to offer a faster response time to rapid temperature changes, making them ideal for applications where CIP (cleaning in place) is used.
The complete assembly of the type TT probe, fitting and process adaptor is certified as meeting the demanding EHEDG requirements for use in hygienic applications.
The assembly also has an IP67 protection rating, and is suitable for use up to 50bar, comfortably exceeding the much lower limits prescribed for most commonly used process adaptors.
With bodies manufactured from high-grade stainless-steel, type TT temperature probes are available in 50 and 100mm lengths.
The probes incorporate Class A platinum resistance temperature elements, and are intended for use with liquid or viscous media over a temperature range of -40 to +150C.
Both have a T05 dynamic response time of just 5s.
The probes feature an industry-standard M12 connector with gold-plated pins, and are designed to be used in conjunction with IFM's type TR control monitors.
These monitors feature seven-segment displays which allow setup and temperature monitoring.
They are available with two switching outputs, four switching outputs, or as combi units with one switching output plus an analogue output.
To ensure easy connection to PLCs and other control devices, the analogue output can be programmed to provide either a 4-20mA or 0-10V signal. Request a free brochure from IFM Electronic ...
