Tiny proximity switches have a long
reach

A new range of miniature inductive proximity switches provides a complete and cost-effective solution when extended sensing ranges are needed, but the space for mounting sensors is at a premium.

When extended sensing ranges are needed, but the space for mounting sensors is at a premium, a complete and cost-effective solution is provided in the new range of miniature inductive proximity switches from sensing and control expert, IFM Electronic The range includes short-body sensors in a variety of formats, extra-short-body sensors in M8 cylindrical housings, and tiny slot-in sensors for monitoring the position of pistons in pneumatic cylinders

Short-body sensors are available in 3, 4 and 6.5mm, M5 and M8 cylindrical versions, as well as in 5 x 5mm rectangular versions.

All versions offer big savings in mounting space - the length of the 6.5mm cabled unit, for example, is just 19mm, compared with 35mm for an ordinary sensor - while sensing ranges are at least double those of standard units.

IFM Electronic offers short-body sensors with M8 connectors for rapid installation, or in pre-cabled models which provide useful extra space savings.

For users requiring compact sensors with M8 bodies, IFM is offering a wide choice of models in its extra-short-body range.

Only 35 or 40mm long, depending on connection type, these units offer extended sensing ranges of 5mm for non-flush types, and 3mm for flush types.

The sensors are available precabled, with 2m pigtails or M8 connectors, and an innovative output stage design means that all types can be operated as two-wire or three-wire units.

Completing IFM's new range of miniature products is a magnetically operated sensor specifically designed for use with magnetic cylinders.

This unit fits conveniently into the slot of C- and T-slot cylinders from all major manufacturers.

As no part of the sensor protrudes from the cylinder, this method of installation requires no extra space whatsoever.

Cylinder sensors can be supplied precabled, or with an M8 connector ready fitted to a short pigtail cable.

All of IFM's new sensors feature an IP67 ingress protection rating, making them suitable for use in even the harshest industrial environments, and all offer high levels of shock and vibration resistance. Request a free brochure from IFM Electronic ...
