Capacitive sensors can see through walls
Sensors from are optimised for the detection of conductive media through nonmetallic walls or on bypasses.
In many cases, further valuable savings are possible as the versatility of the TR2 allows it to perform functions which would previously have needed two or more separate amplifiers.
IFM's innovative TR2 amplifier is compatible with two-, three- and four-wire Pt100 and Pt1000 temperature sensors and, to ensure maximum user convenience, it automatically detects the type of sensor in use, and configures itself appropriately.
It has an exceptionally wide temperature measuring range of -40 to +300C, and offers a high-resolution scalable analogue output which can be programmed by the user to provide either a 0-10V or 4-20mA signal.
A switching output is also provided which can, for example, be used to provide an over- or under-temperature alarm signal.
User-programmable options for the switching output include normally open/normally closed, PNP/NPN, and adjustable hysteresis.
An LED indicator allows easy visual checking of the status of this output.
For applications where a temperature readout at the point of measurement is needed, the TR2 amplifier incorporates a 4-digit alphanumeric display, which is also used as an aid to setup and programming.
The display, along with other functions of the amplifier, can be set for Fahrenheit or Celsius operation, and when it is not needed, the display can be turned off.
TR2 temperature measuring amplifiers from IFM Electronic have stainless-steel bodies, and an IP67 ingress protection rating, making them suitable for use in even the most demanding operating conditions.
The units are designed for operation from nominal 24V DC supplies, and use industry-standard M12 connectors with gold-plated contacts for all connections. Request a free brochure from IFM Electronic ...
