The new 2-wire PI pressure transmitters from IFM Electronic, sophisticated in its simplicity, are easy to install, yet have all the features expected of a top-notch device.

Having only two wires makes it easy to connect, yet the unit still finds enough juice for an LED display of the system pressure.

If needed, the new PI can be connected to an external system for programming, such as a PC running FDT (Field Device Tool) which is fast becoming the new standard interface for such smart devices.

These new versions feature a flush sensor for aseptic processes.

The new housing design packs in a host of improvements from electronic temperature compensation, improved signal evaluation giving an overall accuracy 0.2% as well as a maintenance-free high-purity (AI2O3, 99.9 %) ceramic cell that doesn't drift and doesn't need an elastomer O-Ring.

Instead a cleverly mounted PTFE-seal ensure there is no dead space.

The new units will work in an ambient temperature of -25 to 80C monitoring medium temperatures between -25 to 125C and can even withstand continuous fluid as high as +145C for periods of up to one hour, making them ideal for installations where steam or hot liquids are used for cleaning and sterilisation.

Available with measuring range -1 to 100 bar they also come with a modular process connection using the Aseptoflex concept, so they will fit to most processes quickly and easily.

IFM Electronics' PI pressure sensors provide a measuring signal of either 0_10 V or 4_20 mA scalable via the pushbuttons.

There?s also a programmable switched output available.

Optionally, the settings and values can be accessed and displayed via PC .

The device has its own display though, consisting of a four-digit LED display of values and units (bar/mbar , kPa/Mpa, psi or percent).

All PI series sensors are certified by both 3A and EHEDG.
