The latest innovation from IFM Electronic helps track energy costs.

The Efector Metris measures consumption of that major commodity, compressed air.

Designed for pipe sizes up to DN200, or 8in, in galvanised or stainless-steel pipes, the latest versions of the Efector Metris come complete with a live maintenance fitting.

This allows the sensor to be easily isolated from the pipework without the need to shut down the whole systems.

As with the earlier unit, the Efector Metris with a live maintenance fitting offers an analogue output or a pulsed output, with selectable switchpoints, and a display in the units you choose.

Rising energy costs are a major concern for companies in the present economic climate.

Knowing how much compressed air is being generated can help keep these costs under control.

It is worth measuring, too.

Manufacturing industry in the UK typically loses in excess of 30% of its compressed air to leaks and 1kW of compressed air work costs the equivalent of 10kW of electricity.
