Temperature transmitters use Profibus PA

An IFM Electronic product story

TAP temperature transmitters are suitable for liquids and gases in hygienic processes.

Hot on the heels of the innovative TAD Series IFM Electronic has launched the TAP Series of temperature transmitters, which raise performance by a few more degrees.

TAP temperature transmitters are suitable for liquids and gases in hygienic processes.

The P in TAP stands for Profibus PA, as the devices feature the 3.01 profile, including the "identification and maintenance functions" expansion.

This allows parameter setting via the process bus and diagnostics to be conducted remotely.

Process reliability is the key feature of the TAP Series thanks to the internal monitoring inherited from the TAD.

The use of two different sensor elements, which monitor each other in the process, ensures that a developing sensor drift is immediately detected and reliably diagnosed.

Furthermore, if one element fails, the process continues with the second measuring element (backup function).

A five-point calibration certificate is included with each device at no extra cost.

The TAP's temperature measurement range covers -25 to +150C with a precision of 0.2K from -10 to +100C and 0.3K from -25 to -10 and +100 to +150C.

Temperature drift can be monitored down to 0.5K.

Designed for hygienic processes the TAP Series is EHEDG certified as it features IFM's Aseptoflex process connection allowing adaptation to the popular hygienic fitting systems.
