IFM Electronic has launched the Smartline AC030S for safe outputs using AS-i.

The panel-mount AC030S conforms to all relevant safety standards, from the current EN954-1 Category 4, to its replacement ISO13849-1 Performance Level e, plus IEC61508, SIL3.

The AC030S features one positively-driven safe relay output with dual contacts capable of switching 3A, but also has four non-safe inputs for standard devices.

The front panel features five LEDs for indication of input or output status, operation, faults and alarms.

As a prerequisite, the updated Safety Controller (AC031S single channel or AC032S dual channel) must be used, as the earlier versions weren't designed to configure outputs.

Using the Asimon v3.0, the controller will allow the AC030S output device to be incorporated into the safe part of the AS-i network with ease.
