IFM Electronic unveils SQ volumetric flow sensor

An IFM Electronic product story
Edited by the Engineeringtalk editorial team Sep 10, 2009

IFM Electronic has introduced the SQ volumetric flow sensor for low volumetric flow quantities.

This sensor has been designed for the dosing of water and other aqueous solutions from 1ml/min to 200ml/min, making it suitable for use in sampling and various other applications.

The SQ sensor can be set up in less than five minutes using the two pushbuttons on the front of the unit, next to the four-digit light-emitting-diode (LED) display.

The setting options allow the user to choose switched, analogue or pulsed outputs for integration into the control system.

The second output can be used to indicate the temperature of the medium.

Flow and temperature are measured at the same time.

Both can be supplied either as switched or as analogue output.

The SQ-type volumetric flow sensor is designed for the food and machine tool industries.

The measuring pipe itself is inside the unit, offering high protection against mechanical strain.

The connection to the system is made via a G 1/8 process connection.

Volumetric flow quantities, total quantities or temperature are indicated via a four-digit alphanumeric LED display directly on the unit.

The volumetric flow sensor operates according to the calorimetric measuring principle.

The permissible temperature range of the medium is between 0C and +60C.

The sensor is connected via an industry-standard M12 connector.
