The Process and Building Solutions division of Intergraph Corporation today announced the 3.1 version of SmartPlant Explorer The integrated, Web browser-based SmartPlant Explorer 3.1 software features new functionality for accessing, viewing, querying and reporting on Intergraph SmartPlant P and ID piping and instrumentation design information as well as Intergraph INtools instrumentation engineering data - via the Web, in an e-engineering environment
The INtools and SmartPlant P and ID functionality is offered in modules that can be purchased separately; they are scheduled for release in October.
Used with the modular INtools, SmartPlant P and ID, 3D model display and PDS data access functions, SmartPlant Explorer 3.1 makes plant information exponentially more valuable.
From conceptual design of the P and ID to detail instrumentation system design to modeling and construction, SmartPlant Explorer 3.1 enables users to access and report on interrelated data - in a single, familiar Web environment.
Because it presents design data in context of the user's needs, SmartPlant Explorer 3.1 turns facility data into information usable throughout the plant life cycle.
Users navigate easily among related information.
For example, an instrumentation maintenance engineer viewing a control loop can click associated components and view linked equipment specs, maintenance histories, a 3D model, instrument connection details and other related data.
SmartPlant Explorer 3.1 is open and thus can be integrated with software from SAP, AspenTech, ICARUS and others.
SmartPlant Explorer 3.1 reads data directly from multiple sources, and ensures information accuracy and currency, eliminates dependence on dated paper documents or duplicate sources and helps engineers quickly find the information they need.
Only SmartPlant Explorer 3.1 can find and display Intergraph SmartPlant P and ID, INtools and PDS(tm) (Plant Design System) 3D and 2D information from a single Web browser interface.
Installation of SmartPlant Explorer 3.1, SmartPlant P and ID and INtools software is not required on the client PC.
Find and Display SmartPlant P and ID Schematics The SmartPlant Explorer P and ID module accesses the intelligent diagrams and linked engineering data created by Intergraph SmartPlant P and ID.
The module provides search, view and reporting capabilities through a logical, hierarchical "tree" structure.
P and ID schematics are instantly converted to a Web-viewable format, complete with hyperlinks to the underlying intelligent engineering data.
Users can query the SmartPlant P and ID database and generate a variety of standard reports in Microsoft Excel format.
View and Report on INtools Wiring Diagrams, Instrument Data The INtools module for SmartPlant Explorer 3.1 allows users to find and display graphical and tabular data as a Web page.
Engineers and allied personnel can prepare more than 20 types of reports, including graphical reports of loops, terminal strips and point-to-point wiring diagrams as well as tabular reports such as instrument indexes, calculation sheets, specifications and ISA standard equipment data sheets.
Users can also generate standard or custom reports in Microsoft Excel format.
