Plastic plain bearing design contest still open

An Igus UK product story
Edited by the Engineeringtalk editorial team Aug 7, 2006

There is still time to enter the Manus plastic plain bearing design contest, which closes on 31st August 2006.

The deadline for the Manus plastic plain bearing design contest is 31st August 2006.

Anyone using any brand of polymer bearings can enter by simply detailing how these have improved technical performance in a specific application.

Manus is designed to promote awareness of the benefits of polymer bearings to a wider audience of potential users and to highlight new and original ways of implementing plastic bearings.

Design engineers using plastic bearings are urged to submit an application before the cut-off date.

The application must be in production or at least a working prototype built to prove it is practical.

Entries will be judged by Professor John Hetherington, Head of Engineering at Cranfield University, Andy Pye, Managing Editor of Engineeringtalk and Matthew Aldridge, Bearings Product Director at Igus UK.

Cash prizes of £2500, £1000 and £500 will be awarded at an awards evening on 21st September 2006 at Highgate House in Northamptonshire.

Entries can be made via the Igus website until the closing date.
