Gas springs use low friction bearings
A new line of gas springs from Alrose Products (British Gas Springs) will incorporate Igus polymer plain bearings due to their low friction design
The new range will be marketed under the brand 'Marineline' Alrose Products already uses several thousand Igus bearings per annum in its gas springs
A mixture of aluminium and bronze bearings were used previously and caused marking on the rods, as well as also requiring regular maintenance.
Igus bearings are lubrication free and made from high performance polymers that suit nearly every application.
They are also low friction and help the many gas spring and damper permutations to operate smoothly.
Alrose is currently researching other uses for Igus polymer bearings within its gas springs for future developments.
This could include the use of an FDA approved Iglidur material.
Alan Rose, Managing Director at Alrose, said, "Igus and Alrose are proud of having together achieved a world first in gas springs". Request a free brochure from Igus UK ...
