Marc Lupton has been awarded the IIE YMS Career Achievement Award for 2003, he was presented with his award at the recent IIE Sir Henry Royce Memorial Lecture in London.

Employed by Yorkshire Water, Lupton is leading a project to develop a solution for monitoring no-flow conditions in pumping stations.

This involves the design, prototyping, installing, testing and commissioning of the equipment, as well as the analysis of data and design development thereafter.

One of the outcomes of this project was the design of a flow measurement device that has a patent pending for which Lupton is one of the inventors.

The device has also won a Yorkshire Water Business Excellence Award for Innovation.

Once again the YMS Career Achievement Award has reflected the high standards that IIE Members attain within the workplace, and shows how with the right training and attitude young engineers can achieve considerable career success.
