Available now from International Metrology Systems is version 2.5 of the Active Matrix CAD interface developed by its sister company, Entelegence Software Solutions.

Available now from International Metrology Systems is version 2.5 of the Active Matrix CAD interface developed by its sister company, Entelegence Software Solutions Active Matrix allows Virtual DMIS users to directly import CAD models from all major CAD systems including Catia, Pro/E and Unigraphics as well as all Acis and Parasolids based systems

Industry standard formats such as Iges, Step and VDA are also supported.

Active Matrix will be marketed to industrial users through International Metrology Systems' global distribution network.

"We have included a number of new features that are based on direct input from our users", said Dr Jun Hu, Vice President of Research and Development.

"In addition to the ability to directly read all the major CAD formats, we have designed this new program to include a CAD viewer/editor, allowing users to manipulate the CAD model to the needs of the metrology and production environment.

Features not needed for metrology or production can be interactively deleted from the model, improving system performance".

"Another key request from our users is to install this module on an independent computer", commented Ken Sheehan, Vice President of Marketing.

"This allows CAD model preparation to be done away from the measuring device - letting users deploy the software in ways that match their existing workflow model, rather than forcing users to change their current practices.

The ability to export a prepared model in virtually all industry standard formats expands the scope of Active Matrix to CAM and PDM applications".
