The Institute of Sound and Vibration Research will hold its short course on "Exhaust and intake silencer design" on 2nd-6th February 2004.
Places on this course, which has sold out in all previous years, are strictly limited and early registration is recommended.
Exhaust and intake systems can contribute significantly to the overall level and quality of both interior and exterior vehicle noise.
The course discusses the origins, character and transmission of these noise sources and - through a design/build/test laboratory - demonstrates how silencer elements can be combined to achieve target attenuation levels.
The course is aimed at practising engineers in the automotive, marine and industrial sectors with little to moderate experience of silencer design.
