Producer of alarm management software joins trade association representing companies in the north of England that supply goods and services to the oil, gas, marine and renewable energy industries.
Industrial Control Software, producer of the Imac range of alarm management software, has become a member of the Northern Offshore Federation.
The NOF is a trade association representing about 200 member companies in the north of England that supply goods and services to the oil, gas, marine and renewable energy industries.
The capabilities established by NOF members in the harsh, demanding environment of the North Sea are respected by the developing oil and gas nations around the world.
ICS believes membership of the NOF will assist with its strategy to increase market share in the international alarm management arena.
ICS signed a partnership agreement with ABB in October 2005 enabling it to add alarm rationalisation services to its product portfolio.
Combined with its own Imac alarm management software, ICS can provide complete, turnkey installations to companies looking for improved safety and increased profitability through better alarm handling.
Pressure from government agencies such as the UK's Health and Safety Executive has forced companies to take a closer look at the way they handle process alarm and event data.
As a result, alarm management has moved up the agenda.
This coupled with the rapid growth of emerging oil and gas markets in places such as India and China presents business opportunities for companies serving this sector, emphasising the importance of organisations such as the NOF to help UK companies take advantage of these opportunities.
