Producer of alarm management software suite launches free technical support hotline for its customers using VoIP.
Industrial Control Software, the producer of the IMac alarm management software suite, has launched a free technical support hotline for its customers.
The service which is based on the Skype VoIP service will allow IMac users with a Skype handset to make free calls direct to the IMac technical support team.
Internet voice, also known as VoIP, is a technology that lets users make telephone calls using a broadband internet connection instead of a regular phone line.
With IMac systems installed all over the world in industries ranging from oil and gas to pharmaceutical and power, ICS believes that good after-sales support is a critical part of providing alarm management.
The service will be phased in from April 2006 with all customers who renew their support contract being sent a free VoIP handset to allow them to access the service.
The VoIP software is available as a free download from the Skype web site.

The IMac products are used in process plants to improve efficiency and increase overall safety by improved alarm handling.
