Torque measuring systems available from IM

An Industrial Measurements product story
Edited by the Engineeringtalk editorial team Nov 17, 2008

Industrial Measurements designs and builds reliable torque measuring systems that can be installed onto most drive set ups.

Rated motor outputs are soon diminished by transmissions, gearboxes and differentials.

IM's torque measuring systems show the actual power transmitted through a shaft.

Its systems are accurate from 0.2 per cent to 1 per cent, depending on the configuration.

The shaft is strain gauged and the signal is transmitted via a rotor and stator coil using telemetry.

The rotor electronics are powered by induction, eliminating the need for batteries.

The stator module will usually output a voltage proportional to torque.

By measuring torque and rotational speed, the power is easily calculated and can be displayed on a readout unit.

These torque measuring systems have no moving parts.
