I and R supply coupling locks to Truckpol

An Illston and Robson product story
Edited by the Engineeringtalk editorial team Nov 12, 2008

Illston and Robson have supplied Truckpol, part of the ACPO Vehicle Crime Intelligence Service, with their coupling locks.

TruckPol collates and disseminates statistical data and intelligence on road freight crime in the UK.

Our hardened coupling locks, fitted with blue reflective covers, will be used on their trailers in motorway service areas.

The trailers are there to educate drivers on the facts and figures of commercial vehicle theft, and show how simple it is to secure their vehicle against loss.

Samples of the lock have been forwarded to other constabularies, with a view to their use in securing recovered stolen trailers.

The lock fits onto the Emergency C coupling on the trailer, preventing the coupling of the trailer brakes and rendering the trailer immobile.

It offers a low-cost security and safety measure to prevent VOR accidents and drive-offs when FLT drivers are unloading trailers.

Locks are available keyed alike for multi-trailer yards at no extra cost.
