ImpactXoft has made public a 15-month-old partnership with Toyota Caelum in their creation of a new generation of digital modeling software for Simultaneous Product Development
Modelling solution unbundled on website
IX Design, the 3D modelling solution from ImpactXoft Corp, can now be purchased and downloaded online from the company's website.
The interlocking technologies in IX SPeeD serve as a foundation for Simultaneous Product Development (SPD), a method of collaboration in which members of worldwide development teams co-develop products in parallel to achieve dramatically reduced time to market.
"Overly complex design tools and huge digital modeling files have been daunting roadblocks to collaborative design over the Internet," says Arnie Williams, editor in chief of Cadence magazine.
"ImpactXoft's IX SPeeD Suite combines a unique, history-independent modeling technology with a reinvented approach to collaboration that promises vast improvement in the way products are developed." IX SPeeD is based on three underlying technologies.
IX Functional Modeling emphasizes the functions and behaviors of interacting model elements, eliminating the need for engineers to focus on the creation of lower-level modeling geometry.
IX Functional Object Representation captures the full intelligence of the model as a "design recipe" that can be shared over low-speed connections.
IX Design Intent Merge automatically coordinates design modifications and blends them into the model stored on each project member's workstation.
"We are honored to receive this award from Cadence recognizing the advanced capabilities of our software," says Attilio Rimoldi, president and CEO of ImpactXoft.
"IX SPeeD continues to make an impact with its ease of use and rapid communication of design data." Two times yearly, Cadence staff editors, contributing editors, and reviewers select the Editors' Choice Awards to honor the CAD-related products and services that have done the most to raise the bar on excellence and technology innovation.
