A Seminar on Micro Energy Systems for the 21st Century is being planned for May/June 2002.

With the greater use of distributed electricity supply and local generation, this seminar will aim to contrast the existing and developing generating systems in the range 20kW to 2MW for use in hospitals, supermarkets, leisure centres, government and commercial buildings, and housing generally.

Their use in total energy systems including heating and cooling will be shown.

Systems to be demonstrated will include:- * Packaged gas and diesel engines.

* Micro-turbine generators (gas turbines).

* Wind turbines.

* Photo voltaics.

* Fuel Cells.

* Small-scale hydro.

Speakers will be asked to give an update on the technology they choose (including those used with CHP, cooling and storage), claimed and quantified system energy efficiencies and enviromental benefits and economics allowing for electricity distribution cost savings and environmental performance.

As well as a 'call for papers', well known manufacturers and packagers will be approached to ensure a balanced seminar.
