The ImechE is holding a one-day seminar on "Transportable pressure equipment" in London on Tuesday 25th May 2004.

New regulations on "The carriage of dangerous goods and use of transportable pressure equipment regulations 2004" come into force in April.

They replace most of the current regulations governing the carriage of dangerous goods, and include some significant changes.

The seminar will explain the effects of recent changes in legislation on the various parties involved in the carriage of dangerous goods and the use of transportable pressure equipment.

The roles of the competent authority, approved bodies, notified bodies, manufacturers and users will be covered, as well as some recent practical problems that have been encountered with certain types of equipment.

The event is being co-sponsored by the following bodies: HSE, ASME, BFPA, IchemE, SAFed, BCGA, TWI, EIS, EEMUA, EPERC, FESI, and the LPGAS Association.
