One of the UK's leading power experts is to give a key address at the Institution of Mechanical Engineers (IMechE) on 15th December 2004 about the future of the country's electricity supply.

An audience of 250 people will converge at the IMechE headquarters in Westminster to hear respected expert, Dr Malcolm Kennedy CBE FREng FRSE, at the lecture "The future of Britain's electricity supply - vision or muddle?".

He will debate the major changes in the industry since privatisation 15-years-ago - and what the next decade could hold.

Dr Kennedy will also discuss several main strands of electricity supply including what competitors exist, the current environment of our supply and the security of the nation's electricity.

He will also offer the audience a brief synopsis of what major interventions there have been, mainly from Government, over the past 120 years.

Following the event, there will be a question and answer session.
