Edited by the Engineeringtalk editorial team Oct 17, 2005

A one-day course aims to help engineers and industrialists to meet legal requirements and moral expectations by designing and using materials in a way that is environmentally responsible.

The Structural Technologies and Materials Group of the Institution of Mechanical Engineers is holding a one-day course on 1st November 2005 that aims to help engineers and industrialists to meet both the legal requirements and the moral expectations of society by designing and using materials in a way that is environmentally responsible.

Speakers from the forefront of EU decision making in the field will provide briefings on the latest EU and UK legislation affecting engineering materials.

Delegates will then have the opportunity to present the industrial perspective to these same experts in a dedicated Q and A session.

Case studies from the industrial and engineering giants who are innovative in this field, such as Rolls-Royce and Ford Motor Company, will also be presented, providing a real insight into how to achieve compliance without sacrificing financial success.
