A seminar on 6th April in Rotterdam will cover area classification, the ATEX regulations and mechanical equipment risk assessment.

HazardEx The Journal and ABB have joined forces to bring to the market an essential seminar in the understanding of area classification, the ATEX regulations and mechanical equipment risk assessment, which is to be held on the 6th April 2006 at the Golden Tulip Rotterdam Airport Hotel.

With the advent of the ATEX Directive there are new additional constraints for the user in designing (with particular inclusion of formal risk assessments), maintaining and repairing the hazardous area equipment in service.

A major consequence of this is the requirement for all existing hazardous areas to be re-assessed for safety risk and for mechanical sources of energy to be identified and added to the existing instrument/electrical sources.

The seminar will give delegates a clear understanding of how the ATEX Directives are being introduced across the EU and offer an overview of risk assessment methodologies and experiences of hazard assessment management.

The duration of the ATEX seminar is one day and will be of benefit to all production, engineering, process and safety personnel, whether they are managers, engineers, inspectors or technicians.
