IMO Precision Controls has expanded its family of FA photoelectric sensors for DC operation with the introduction of a new series of compact M18 barrel type photoelectric switches.

The addition of the new M18 types means that IMO's FA series is now able to offer OEMs and end users alike the most complete and flexible range of models within one family yet.

Operating over a 10-30V DC range, the new photoelectric sensors are available in both plastic and metal bodies with IP67 protection.

They come with an axial or 90-degree optical lens and come with a range of light sources including visible red light for transparent object detection, infra-red or red light laser.

Diffuse, retroreflective, polarised retroreflective and through beam types are all available, with or without sensitivity adjust.

Sensing distances are 50 to 1000mm for diffuse types, 4m for retroreflective models, 3m axial, 2m 90 degrees (35m laser) for polarised retroreflective units and 20m (50m laser) for through beam sensors.

For transparent object detection, such as glass or plastic bottles and sheets, sensing distances are 100 to 1000mm.

The new photoswitches are fitted with a choice of complementary (NO and NC) or Lon/Don selectable outputs.

There are also three-wire NO output and three-wire NC output versions.

Models are available with specific PNP and NPN outputs and an axial or 90-degree cable and plug exit.

The FA series carries CE, UL and CUL approvals and is built to meet the needs of even the most demanding applications in the food, packaging, assembly and process markets.
