IMO Precision Controls has expanded its family of photoelectric sensors for DC operation with the introduction of a new range of compact M12 and M18 barrel type photoelectric switches.

Automation and control specialist, IMO Precision Controls, has expanded its family of photoelectric sensors for DC operation with the introduction of a new range of compact M12 and M18 barrel type photoelectric switches These additions focus on simplicity in setup, mounting and maintenance, and are designed to meet the efficiency and reliability demands of modern automated systems

The DM series is a new M12 sensor that is ideally suited to conveyor and assembly machine applications.

Its short body provide ease of mounting and its selectable output logic options guarantee a simple interface to standard control systems.

The DM series is available in diffuse, retro and through beam modes.

The sensor can be finely adjusted where the object to be detected is very small or semi-transparent or where there is a low differential between the object and a background.

A multifunction LED shows set up and output status.

Operating temperature is up to 70C and the units are sealed to IP65.

The FA series is an M18 photoelectric sensor that operates over a 10-30V DC range, available in both plastic and metal bodies with IP67 protection.

They come with an axial or 90 degree optical lens and is available in a variety of light sources including visible red light for transparent object detection, infrared or red light laser.

Diffuse, retroreflective, polarised retroreflective and through beam types are all available, with or without sensitivity adjustment.

Sensing distances are 50 to 1000mm for diffuse types, 4m for retroreflective models, 3m axial, 2m 90 degrees (35m laser) for polarised retroreflective units and 20m (50m laser) for through beam sensors.

For transparent object detection, ie glass or plastic bottles and sheets, sensing distances are 100 to 1000mm.

The MS series is a M18 sensor with universal logic output which simplifies interfacing.

The series comes with background suppression models for accurate position detection, short circuit and reverse polarity protection.

An optional M12 plug for easy maintenance and a diagnostic function on through beam models are also included.

All three series carry CE, UL and CUL approvals and are built to meet the needs of even the most demanding applications in the food, packaging, assembly and process markets.
